As private jet travel skyrockets now is as good a time as any to invest in ownership and design companies are pulling out all the stops to ensure the best of the best.
Private aviation might have been under the environmental spotlight in recent times, but, with an increased emphasis on personal health and safety, usage has skyrocketed, with Robb Report disclosing that nearly half a dozen private jet charter companies have reported an increase of 25 percent in bookings, with inquiries up by 75 percent. As we look to take control of our travel, it goes without saying that – rather than depending on charter operators – now is as good a time as any to invest in ownership. Of course, just as our homes are a reflection of our exacting standards, so too are our private aircrafts, with design companies pulling out all the stops to elevate our time in the air with custom, bespoke interiors. The world’s first ACJ320neo, for example, has an interior designed by Yves Pickardt of Paris-based Alberto Pinto Design to feature a spacious 19-seat cabin – with a master suite and en-suite with marble sink and shower – that is revealed through butter-soft leathers, rich woodwork, bespoke furnishings and artwork by Helen Amy Murray. Meanwhile, with the new Airbus A220 being eyed for use as a private jet, the CEOs of Kestrel Aviation Management, Camber Aviation Management and Pierrejean Vision, have joined forces to reveal a concept that sets a new standard in terms of private plane design. This includes configuring the aircraft with a modular layout – adaptable for different owners – to feature a lounge, dining and conference area, private office (or children’s bedroom), a master bedroom and en-suite – with a steam shower – and a media suite, complete with a 75-inch high-definition 4k television, surround sound system, and theatre-style recliners. The mood, meanwhile, is more luxury penthouse apartment than cabin, with bespoke furnishings, supple leather trimmings, polished wood, subtle, concealed lighting and a colour palette of your choice, to create a truly bespoke cabin design and, more importantly, a home away from home.
